Tasting Notes

Our 2021 Tempranillo benefits from a warm growing season, showcasing a remarkable freshness that balances the vintage’s ripeness. It opens with dark plum, strawberry, and spiced black cherry, lifted by licorice, bay leaf, and dried violets. Rich and structured with lively acidity and firm tannins, it is ready now and will improve over five years.

Vintage Notes

The 2021 growing season got off to a slow start with a cool and damp spring and flowering period. However, a dry and warm July, August and September allowed the vines to quickly be able to make up for lost time. With smaller than average crop levels and perfect ripening conditions from September through to Thanksgiving, the fruit was able to achieve excellent flavour and phenolic ripeness, and was harvested with high levels of concentration and aromatic intensity. An outstanding vintage that has produced bold red wines that are full of character.
